Teleflex is delighted to announce the opening of their newly constructed Global Operations and International headquarters in Athlone today. The 45,000 sq. foot facility houses a state of the art laboratory and office space. It is located in the IDA Business & Technology Park in Athlone. Construction of the new facility commenced in November 2015 and was completed in September 2016. This project represents an investment of €13.5m in the Athlone region by Teleflex.
Teleflex has had operations in Athlone since 2007 Over these past nine years, the company has expanded its employee base from its startup of seven to approximately 200 today.

Teleflex has benefitted from its location in Athlone and the ability to attract and recruit a significant number of local talent for its many multinational roles that combine both technical and language skills. The construction of the new facility demonstrates the company’s commitment to the expansion of its business and significant long-term investment in the Athlone area.

This investment will have long-term benefits, not just for Teleflex but for the wider Midlands Region. I welcome their ongoing commitment to Athlone and wish them much success for the future.”
Speaking at today’s official opening, Minister of State Sean Canney TD said: “I’m delighted to be here in Athlone to mark this significant milestone for the company. Teleflex has gone from strength-to-strength since establishing here back in 2007 and is a significant employer in Athlone and the wider Midlands Region, contributing substantially to the local economy. This investment is an important one for the company and the whole of the Midlands Region. I wish them all future success.”
