The acting Minister for Business & Employment, Ged Nash, is extending his best wishes to Dr Nora Khaldi, founder and CSO of Nuritas, as she prepares to represent Ireland at tomorrow’s (Thursday) TEDxBinnenhof “Ideas from Europe” event in The Hague, Netherlands.
Dr Khaldi was nominated by Minister Nash to represent Ireland at this event last year. Her company Nuritas is a biotechnology company which is working on identifying highly impactful molecules in food for human health.
At an earlier round of the competition, Dr Khaldi was selected to be one of 12 European entrepreneurs to progress to the event in The Hague. These 12 will present their ground breaking ideas which have the potential to change the world tomorrow (Thurs) at 12:30.
The event will be live streamed at: http://tedxbinnenhof.com/live/
Acting Minister Nash said, “I want to wish Dr Nora Khaldi the very best of luck as she represents Ireland at the “Made in Europe” event tomorrow, aimed at showcasing the most pioneering ideas from our brightest entrepreneurs across the region.”
“The disruptive nature of her research and its potential to address some of our most pressing health issues like obesity, immunity and heart health is truly inspiring and I am sure she will do Ireland proud at the event.”
TEDxBinnenhof is a platform for sharing ideas, for inspiring and motivating people to use their entrepreneurial spirit to solve global challenges and, in turn, become the lifeblood of Europe’s economy.
TEDxBinnenhof ‘Ideas from Europe’ features 12 European Entrepreneurs with ground breaking ideas that could change the world. They come from EU member states and EFTA countries and were selected by a jury at the SME Assembly held in Luxembourg on 20 November 2015.
Dr Khaldi’s company Nuritas is the first company in the world to use new technologies like artificial intelligence and DNA analysis to find and develop natural, sustainable, and affordable disease-beating molecules that have no damaging side-effects.
These ingredients are able to be included in many different products, from personal care to food, to help people prevent illness.
Nuritas unlocks disease-beating molecules, called peptides, within food that have life-changing effects such as reducing inflammation, reducing muscle loss and regulating blood glucose.
The “Ideas from Europe” competition is being run in partnership with TedX Binnenhof as part of the Dutch Presidency of the EU.
