The EU and Digital Division plays an important role in driving the digital transition by the Irish enterprise sector.
The division:
- coordinates Ireland’s position at the Competitiveness Council
- advances the department's EU agenda across government and at EU level
- leads the department's planning for its upcoming presidency of the EU council in 2026
- leads Ireland’s positions on EU digital economy platform and artificial intelligence policy and regulation proposals for enterprise
- leads on policy to support enterprise adoption of digital technologies, including artificial intelligence
