Minister of State for Business, Employment and Retail, Neale Richmond TD, is attending the Social Forum tomorrow. The Forum has been arranged in Porto by the Portuguese government, with the support of the European Commission.
The Forum marks the two-year anniversary of the 2021 Porto Social Summit and aims to renew and reinforce the values of Social Europe and continue the commitments made in 2021.
Commenting on the Porto Social Forum Minister Richmond said:
“I look forward to these important discussions and hearing other participants’ views on skills challenges, strengthening the social dimension within the EU and Europe’s influence in leveraging positive social and environmental change.”
Topics being discussed at the Forum include the EU’s European Year of Skills 2023 as a driver for the green and digital transition, the European Social Model as a geopolitical lever, and how best to continue to implement the European Pillar of Social Rights.
Participants at the Porto Social Forum include representatives from EU institutions, member states and the social partners.
