The Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Leo Varadkar TD, today published the Economic and Sustainability Impact Assessment for Ireland of the EU-Mercosur Trade Agreement, fulfilling the commitment to do so in the Programme for Government.
The independent study includes an analysis of the potential economic benefits of the deal, as well as a sustainability impact assessment including social, human rights and environmental impacts that the Agreement could have in Ireland and the Mercosur countries.
The study was commissioned by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment in conjunction with the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine and was undertaken by the Danish firm, Implement Consulting Group.
