IDA congratulates Pramerica on official opening of new state-of-the-art campus in Donegal

IDA Ireland has today welcomed the official opening of Pramerica’s new state-of-the-art campus in Letterkenny

The new building, which employed over 220 local tradesmen during its construction, represents a significant investment by the company.

Pramerica currently employs 1,500 people with a diverse workforce drawn from over 35 different countries.

Congratulating the company on its new facility in Letterkenny, An Tánaiste and Minister for Business, Enterprise & Innovation Frances Fitzgerald TD said: "I am delighted to welcome the completion and official opening of Pramerica's new premises in Letterkenny.  This company is a flagship operation in the North-West region, having grown significantly over recent years to now employ a very impressive 1,500 staff.  It exemplifies the ongoing success of the Government’s policy of driving balanced regional development, whereby quality jobs can be attracted to a location far from the major cities, when the right  skills and infrastructure, particularly ICT, is in place.   This new building will help embed Pramerica in Letterkenny and I look forward to the company's continued success in Donegal."

Minister of State for the Diaspora and International Development Joe McHugh TD said: “This is a great day for Letterkenny, Donegal and the North-West City Region, a cross-Border vision for the growth of connected economies across the border.

We know that jobs created in one jurisdiction benefit the workforce in the other and it is in our interests to help grow the local economy further on that basis.

Pramerica is the largest employer here and makes a substantial contribution to the local economy. The hi tech new premises here - supported by the IDA - is on a par with anything you will see in any major capital city in Europe.

I want to pay tribute to everyone involved with Pramerica, in the USA, here in Donegal and elsewhere for their continued commitment to this valuable base here. These new premises represent a commitment to the future, to our future here in the North West.”

CEO of IDA Ireland Martin Shanahan said: “Pramerica began in 2000 with just eight employees and has grown to become a highly successful company, a great employer of substantial numbers and one of the largest regional reference sellers IDA has for regions.

It shows how successfully companies in regional locations can be scaled.  Its longevity in Donegal has been a significant boon for the local economy, not just in Donegal but in the North-West region. Developing this new facility demonstrates serious commitment by Pramerica to Donegal and the region. I wish Ciaran and his team continued success.”
