What We Do

Critical Skills job interview authorisation

Non-EEA nationals who have been invited to enter the State for the purposes of attending a job interview for an occupation on the Critical Skills Occupations List, may, subject to normal immigration requirements and procedures, be granted permission to enter the State on a temporary basis (up to a maximum of 90 days from date of arrival).

Interviewees on arrival in the State will be required to be in possession of acceptable supporting documentation.

During this period, if you are successful at interview, you may apply for an employment permit and await the outcome of the application. If the application for the employment permit is granted the non-EEA national will be required to register with the Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNIB).

Applications for employment permits are subject to qualifying criteria. Accordingly, it is advisable that you familiarise yourself with the criteria and application process for the employment permit, and your eligibility, before you travel to Ireland.

If your application for an employment permit is successful, you must register with the Garda National Immigration Bureau on receipt of the employment permit.
