What We Do

Ireland’s NCP for the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises

Who we are and what we do

All Governments adhering to the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises (the Guidelines) are required to set up a National Contact Point (NCP).

The role of the NCP is to promote the Guidelines and related due diligence guidance, and to handle complaints (referred to as “specific instances”) as a non-judicial grievance mechanism. The NCP will also handle any enquiries related to the Guidelines. To date, 50 governments including Ireland have an NCP established.

The Ireland NCP is a standalone Unit which is part of the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment.
