EU Employment Ministers call for growth policies – Minister Richard Bruton

28th February 2013: EU Employment Ministers today (Thursday) called for an increased focus on policies to promote growth and job creation at a Council meeting co-chaired by Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD. Minister Bruton was co-chairing a meeting of the Employment and Social Policy Council (EPSCO) with Minister for Social Protection, Joan Burton TD.

EU Commissioner issues call to action on scientific research agenda

28th February 2013: EU Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science, Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, has today (Thursday) called on the wider European research community – academia, industry, governments and other key stakeholders – to embrace and advance the 'Joint Programming' model of research, where Member States work together to tackle common issues in a strategically-aligned process.

Guidewire Software announces creation of 75 new roles at Dublin Software Centre

Minister Bruton announces that Quantcast is to establish its EMEA Operations Centre in Dublin with the creation of 100 new jobs

21st February 2013: Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD, today [Thursday] announced that Quantcast is to establish its EMEA Operations Centre in Dublin with the creation of 100 new high quality jobs over the next two years. The investment is supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through IDA Ireland.

Minister Sherlock welcomes continued growth in Business Expenditure on R&D in Ireland

18th February 2013: Seán Sherlock, T.D., Minister for Research & Innovation, today (Monday) has welcomed publication of the BERD Survey results for 2011/2012. The BERD Survey, conducted every two years since 2007/2008, provides final business R&D expenditure figures for 2011 and preliminary estimates for 2012 and is jointly conducted by the Central Statistics Office and Forfás.
