The Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment is currently seeking input on the development of its new Statement of Strategy to cover the period 2025-2028.
The Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment is currently drafting its Statement of Strategy for the period 2025-2028.
Our new Statement of Strategy will closely reflect the government’s priorities as set out in the Programme for Government and other overarching policy frameworks such as the Climate Action Plan and National Development Plan.
The Programme for Government articulates that developing Ireland’s enterprise base will remain a key focus for government over the next five years – from backing small businesses and start-ups, to scaling up indigenous firms and enhancing our attractiveness as a location for foreign direct investment. It places an emphasis on enhancing competitiveness, productivity and innovation to deliver a strong and stable economy.
In addition, our strategy will reflect the department’s new functions related to tourism – the most significant indigenous enterprise sector, employing close to 200,000 people in every corner of Ireland.
The Statement of Strategy will serve as a framework for delivering the department’s work over the coming years, structured around our values, mission and goals, with a vision to deliver resilient, competitive, regionally balanced economy with thriving enterprises and high-quality employment.
