The Trade and Investment Report 2023 shows the continued growth in international trade and the role played by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment in supporting trade and investment for Ireland.
As a small open economy Ireland is dependent on international trade that helps create high value employment. The openness of our economy is a national strength and the more we diversify our trade relationships, the stronger our supply chains become and the more robust our ability to withstand global challenges into the future.
Exceeding €1 trillion in total trade and achieving a trade surplus of €64 billion highlights the strength and value of the Irish enterprise sector in 2023.
The Trade and Investment Strategy 2022-2026 and the White Paper on Enterprise 2022-2030 sets out priorities for Irish enterprise policy.
