Collaboration between public research institutions and the enterprise sector is a key objective of the Government’s Strategy for Science, Technology and Innovation. This report provides a review of governance, management and scientific oversight structures for multi-institutional, public-private and collaborative research ventures. It sets out the range of potential establishment models, and highlights issues to be considered for the success of the venture.
