This report provides an analysis of Ireland's total research and development activity and includes data on domestic and international sources of funding, sectors of performance, research personnel and gender, and other indicators.

It brings together data from a number of Forfás publications including; Business Expenditure on Research and Development 2005/2006, State Expenditure on Science and Technology 2005/2006, Higher Education Research and Development 2005/2006 and 4th Community Innovation Survey.
