The Employment Law Review Group Annual Report 2025 provides an update on progress to date under its 2025–2026 work programme. This work focuses on three key areas: the determination of employment status, a review of the Unfair Dismissals Acts, and a review of statutory notice periods under the Minimum Notice and Terms of Employment Act 1973.
The ELRG is a statutory body mandated to monitor, review, and advise the Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment on matters of employment law, in line with the Minister’s programme of work. The group comprises legal professionals and representatives from expert, technical, legal, government, and regulatory bodies, who provide their services on a voluntary basis.
The ELRG meets at least quarterly in plenary session, and members also meet regularly within their respective subgroups.
The 2025 annual report provides an update on progress across each area of the current work programme.
