5th September 2018
The Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation received over 300 Expressions of Interest following the first call of the Government’s €500 million Disruptive Technologies Innovation Fund. The deadline for applications closed on August 17th last.
The applications involved a high degree of collaboration, with many bids for funding involving multiple partners. The high volume of applications means that this first call is a very competitive process and shows significant appetite for projects seeking to develop and deploy disruptive technologies in Ireland.
The Department, its colleagues in Enterprise Ireland, IDA Ireland and Science Foundation Ireland along with relevant experts are now reviewing these applications to determine their eligibility for funding.
Applicants will be informed at the earliest opportunity about the eligibility of their proposal and whether or not they will be invited to full application. The aim is to let all applicants know the status of their application by the end of September, given the large volume of Expressions of Interest received.
