Cloud and managed services provider Ergo has announced today that it will be expanding its workforce by 100 people, as it forecasts revenues to hit €100m by 2020. From IT solutions that range from software and infrastructure to IT staffing to document and print solutions, these new roles will include a spectrum of commercial, technical, project and programme management skills, with jobs being created primarily in Dublin and Cork, bringing staff numbers to 510 in total. Ergo last announced a jobs increase in 2015, filling 120 roles earlier than expected.
Ergo has been experiencing tremendous success across all of its business divisions, particularly in its Managed Services division, with a growth of 100% over the last two years. This increase has come from a combination of significant multi-million euro contracts, along with added growth from its strong mid-market segment and proven expertise in a wide range of solutions, such as cloud computing and cyber security. A 24/7 Service Desk and one of the largest subject matter expert teams in Ireland has given Ergo the ability to compete and thrive globally in over 36 countries. An example of the company’s continued growth in Managed Services is the recent projects it has completed for AerCap, the global leader in aircraft leasing, with a total asset value of $41bn. This work involved the transition of two datacentres from the Netherlands to Ireland, along with the provision of an ICT Operations Managed Service in a financially regulated environment.
Speaking at the jobs announcement, Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation, Heather Humphreys TD said: “It is a great pleasure to join the growing Ergo team today for the announcement of 100 new jobs which will largely be based in Dublin and Cork. The jobs include a spectrum of technical, project and programme management skills positions and are indicative of continuing robust employment performance across the country. Starting in 1993 with just eight employees, Ergo has built an extremely impressive track record over the past 25 years and demonstrates the market appetite for innovative IT solutions. I wish John and the team continued success as they successfully scale their operations.”
“We are seeing continual demand from new and existing clients for our breadth of services such as digital transformation, security and our 24/7 Service Desk, as they pivot to provide new product offerings to their customers”, said Ergo CEO John Purdy. “We continue to invest in our businesses, with growth being achieved through organic and acquisition activities to drive new ideas and areas of innovation. We have recently invested €2m to build out a new Digital Application Platform. This allows applications to be developed by Ergo using reusable components. Already it has been deployed successfully in the health sector for conditions such as epilepsy, where patients play an active part in their care.”
Following the 2016 acquisition of licensing specialist firm Micromail, Ergo’s Cork presence has strengthened and is continuing to expand leading to the creation of additional jobs.
Julie Sinnamon, CEO, Enterprise Ireland said: “Innovation is crucial for Irish companies with global ambition to effectively compete on national and global scales and Ergo’s highly innovative culture is evident from its commitment to adapting to its customers’ needs, delivering enterprise-wide solutions that drive productivity and profitability. As well as continued R&D support, Enterprise Ireland will continue to deepen its engagement with Ergo across all business functions to support its ambitious growth plans.”
Seeking highly skilled professionals to join its expanding team, Ergo places great emphasis on innovation, quality, and professional development. Continually investing in these areas has seen the company recognised by awards such as Deloitte Best Managed Company 2017, Tech Excellence Managed Service Company of the Year, Microsoft Cloud Productivity Partner of the Year and 3rd place in Great Place to Work Best Medium Sized Workplace.
