GLASSDOOR LAUNCHES IN IRELAND WITH PLANS TO OPEN DUBLIN OFFICE IN 2016;TO CREATE UP TO 100 JOBS OVER THREE YEARS

Demand for Greater Workplace Transparency Fuels Glassdoor’s Global Growth as Company Introduces Irish Site and Apps and Expands Operations in Europe

Glassdoor, the world’s most transparent jobs and recruiting marketplace, marks a new milestone today in its international growth as it introduces its Irish site (https://www.glassdoor.ie), iOS and Android apps. This represents the company’s ninth country-specific site, beginning with Glassdoor.com in 2008. Glassdoor also announces it intends to open an office in Dublin in January 2016 and is commencing recruiting efforts for employees specialising primarily in Sales, Marketing and Customer Success.

This project has been supported by the Department of Jobs through IDA Ireland.

As of today, Glassdoor offers Irish job seekers well over 33,000 job listings and first-hand insights into more than 2,6001 employers in Ireland, including leading employers such as Google, Accenture and Version 1. Insights into companies include employee-provided company reviews, salary reports, interview reviews, benefit reviews and office photos. Globally, Glassdoor has more than 10 million pieces of content across 445,000 employers. Approximately 54,000 companies participate on Glassdoor through a Free Employer Account and another 3,000 employers are clients, leveraging Glassdoor’s job advertising and employer branding products.

“We are excited to expand our global footprint by launching in Ireland to provide greater workplace transparency for Irish job seekers into local employers, and in turn helping employers recruit more effectively,” said Diarmuid Russell, Head of Glassdoor International. “In addition to be being focused on better addressing the needs of the European jobs and employment market, the opening of the Dublin office in 2016 is an opportunity for local job seekers to join Glassdoor and help build and shape a tech start up that is in hyper-growth mode.”

Speaking from New York where he is leading an IDA Ireland investment mission Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD said: “At the heart of our Action Plan for Jobs is our ambition to make Ireland the internet capital of Europe, and over recent years we have managed to attract many of the most exciting companies on the internet to establish operations here. Today’s announcement by Glassdoor that it is establishing an office in Dublin in the coming months and creating 100 jobs is another great step on this journey. I am delighted to welcome this major announcement and I wish Diarmuid and the team every success with this project”.

Commenting on the investment, Martin Shanahan, CEO, IDA Ireland said: “Talent is the number one reason why companies choose to come to Ireland. Glassdoor has a great understanding of this. This launch from Glassdoor forms part of their investment plan for Ireland. We welcome their plans to open an office in Dublin in January 2016 and wish them continued growth and success.”

Glassdoor uses a ‘give-to-get’ model, offering free access to all Glassdoor data once a user contributes their own content, such as a salary report, company review, interview review and questions, benefits review and/or office photo. Job listings are always accessible by anyone, any time. No other global jobs platform combines job listings with this level of depth and details into specific jobs at specific companies.

For all Ireland-based employers, Glassdoor currently offers a free employer account giving employers an easy-to-use channel with tools and resources to engage directly with job seekers and employers. With a free employer account, an official company representative can gain valuable insights and analytics to understand what influences their hiring efforts and reputation. The account also allows employers to respond to their company’s reviews and flag any reviews that may be inappropriate and post real-time updates on their profile pages.
