Dangerous Substances Act, 1972 (No 10 of 1972)

The Dangerous Substances Act, 1972 deals with the licensing of Petroleum activities including petroleum bulk stores and petrol stations.

The Act was amended in 1979 and Regulations have been made under the Dangerous Substances Acts, 1972 and 1979. Separate Regulations apply to: retail and private petroleum stores (RPPSs), petroleum bulk stores, oil jetties and liquefied petroleum gasoline (LPG) activities.
