  • Will I be charged for requesting information under the FOI Act?

    There is no longer a requirement to submit an upfront fee when requesting information under the FOI Act. However, the following will incur charges:

    1. Applications for review of decisions on non-personal requests
    2. Search and retrieval of records where the time spent locating such records exceeds 5 hours.

    Fee List

    • €30.00 internal appeal fee
    • €10.00 internal fee (medical card holders and their dependents)
    • €50.00 appeal to the Information Commissioner
    • €15.00 appeal to the Information Commissioner (medical card holders and their dependents)
    • €20.00 per hour - search and retrieval
    • €0.04 per sheet for a photocopy
    • €10.00 for a CD
    • €6.00 for X-Ray.
