These Regulations give effect to two Commission Directives (Directive 2020/2088/EU of 11 December 2020 and Directive 2020/2088/EU of 11 December 2020).
Directive 2020/2088/EU of 11 December 2020 amends the allergenic fragrances listed in the table in the third paragraph of point 11 of Part III of Annex II to Directive 2009/48/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the safety of toys, to include the allergenic fragrances listed in Table 1 3-1 of the Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS) opinion of 26 and 27 June 2012 and amend entry 4 of the table in respect of citronellol. Commission Directive 2020/2089/EU of 11 December 2020 amends the table on the first paragraph of point 11 of Part III of Annex II to Directive 2009/48/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the safety of toys, to include the prohibition of the use of atranol, chloroatranol and methyl heptine carbonate in toys.
