The Minister for Business & Employment Ged Nash has warmly welcomed the announcement by Combilift that it is to create 200 new jobs in a major expansion in Monaghan town.

Combilift is investing €40 million in a new state of the art facility on a greenfield manufacturing site. Most of the 200 jobs that will be created over the next five years will be for engineers and skilled technicians. A further 200 jobs are to be created during the construction phase for the new manufacturing plant.

The investment is supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through Enterprise Ireland.

Commenting on the announcement Minister Nash said, "This is fantastic news for the people of Monaghan and the wider border region.”

"Combilift was one on the companies who joined me on a recent trade mission to Turkey and I was very impressed by this Irish company which has become a world leader in exporting industrial machinery like forklifts."

"As the Government focuses on regional development in our plan to return to full employment by 2018, this significant jobs boost for Monaghan demonstrates how innovative companies with the help of Government supports can deliver quality jobs to the regions."

"I wish Combilift every success during this exciting expansion phase."
